Columbus North Market Tower Program Now Lists 142 Residences
An updated North Market project sheet lists 142 residences, not the 174 previously reported, plus hotel, office, club, market and parking components.

The latest North Market project sheet lists 142 residences in the Merchant Building complex, not the 174 apartments in earlier reports. It also shows hotel, office, social-club, market-expansion and parking components, with construction expected to continue through the fourth quarter of 2026.
The current program
North Market’s updated development sheet divides the residential program into 90 Merchant Club residences and 52 Merchant Lofts. Together, those components total 142 residences.
The sheet also lists 162 rooms in the Merchant Hotel and 44 club-affiliated hotel guest rooms. It identifies 65,000 square feet of office space, a 50,000-square-foot social club and a 346-space parking garage.
Why CREN changed the headline
Earlier Construction Dive reporting described 174 rental units, a 206-room hotel and a project cost that had increased to approximately $430 million. Those figures reflected the program available when that story was published.
The newer official sheet is the better source for the current component count. CREN cannot determine from the public documents whether the difference resulted from redesign, a change in how club residences are classified or another program revision.
The market expansion remains central
The project is designed to connect directly to the historic North Market and add space for market activity and programming. North Market’s project history says the development is intended to preserve and expand the institution while adding multiple uses above and beside it.
These are plans and developer descriptions. They do not establish future visitor counts, apartment occupancy, office leasing or revenue for existing merchants.
Schedule and access
The current flyer says construction is expected to continue through the fourth quarter of 2026. It also says North Market will remain open during construction and describes parking validation arrangements in the Vine Street garage.
Large mixed-use projects can change scope or timing, so late 2026 should be treated as the published construction expectation rather than a guaranteed opening date for every component.
What comes next
The next verifiable checkpoints are certificates of occupancy, hotel and residential leasing announcements, and a confirmed opening schedule for the expanded market space. CREN will use the latest official program for unit counts and label older figures as superseded rather than combining them.
