Harvest Clintonville Reopened in 2024, Not After a 2026 Fire

Harvest Bar + Kitchen’s Clintonville location reopened in November 2024 after a fire that July; it did not reopen after a new 2026 fire. CREN’s earlier article recycled the old event without its correct timeline and added unsupported conclusions about property demand and corridor strength.

The reopening happened nearly two years earlier

Columbus Underground reported on November 5, 2024 that Harvest would reopen its Clintonville dining room that week after an overnight fire in July. The report identified the address as 2885 North High Street and said smoke caused most of the interior damage.

The original CREN page was dated August 2026 but described that old reopening as though it had just occurred. CREN found no source establishing a new fire or reopening at the restaurant in 2026. The publication date and framing were therefore materially misleading.

The two fires also need their dates

NBC4’s contemporaneous report described the reopening after fires in 2022 and July 2024. According to that coverage, the later fire started behind the building and damaged refrigeration equipment and dumpsters.

Those facts belong to the historical record, but they do not support calling the restaurant’s current operation a new comeback story. The revised article separates the incident dates from the date of this correction.

Current status can be checked without inventing a trend

Harvest’s official locations page continues to list the Clintonville restaurant at 2885 North High Street. That is current first-party evidence that the company treats the location as operating, although readers should still check the restaurant directly for same-day hours.

The old story called Harvest a neighborhood anchor and treated its return as proof of commercial-corridor resilience. CREN found no vacancy series, rent data, business-turnover study or property-sales analysis tying one restaurant’s reopening to Clintonville real-estate demand. Those conclusions have been removed.

What the record can and cannot show

A business surviving a closure can matter to employees and regular customers. It does not, on its own, measure the health of every storefront on North High Street or explain residential prices nearby.

The supportable story is narrower: a fire interrupted operations, the business repaired the space, most staff returned according to Columbus Underground, and the restaurant reopened in 2024. The independent reports do not provide a complete insurance, repair-cost or lost-sales accounting, so CREN cannot quantify the financial effect.

Correction and future checkpoint

This rewrite corrects the event year, removes the claim that two fires would close many small businesses, and deletes investment-oriented language. It also replaces an unsupported statement about property owners with evidence readers can inspect.

Any future update should be based on a genuinely new event: a current company announcement, permit, fire report, closure notice or ownership change. Without one of those records, the 2024 reopening should remain an archived local-business story rather than be presented as breaking news.
