Hilliard Pickleball Club Still Says Coming Soon Before Target

Pickleball Kingdom’s planned Hilliard club at 4500 Britton Parkway has 15 indoor courts, but the operator’s current page still lists reservations and open play as coming soon. A late-August opening reported in July remains a target, not confirmation that the Columbus-area facility is operating.

The operator’s page confirms the address and courts

The Hilliard club page lists the address as 4500 Britton Parkway and describes 15 climate-controlled indoor courts. It also advertises locker rooms, showers, a pro shop, event space, coaching and organized play.

As of CREN’s August 15 review, the same page labels open-play times and court-reservation times as coming soon. That is the clearest current status signal available from the operator and is why this revision does not say the club has opened.

The prior version relied on a reported late-August target but wrote the headline in the present tense. A target can change, especially when the operator has not posted a first day of play or live reservation schedule.

The timetable has already moved

Pickleball Kingdom’s July 16, 2025 announcement said the approximately 36,000-square-foot facility was expected to open in early 2026. It identified the project as the chain’s third Ohio location after Cincinnati and Centerville.

614NOW reported on July 18, 2026 that the target had moved to late August. From the initial announcement to the revised target is roughly 13 months, but elapsed time is not the same as construction delay because the first release did not give a firm opening day or detailed project schedule.

The sources do not explain which permitting, construction, staffing or operational steps drove the changed timeline. CREN therefore does not assign a cause.

Facility size does not equal court area

The original story divided 36,000 square feet by 15 courts and described about 2,400 square feet per court. That arithmetic is correct, but the interpretation is misleading because the total building also contains circulation, viewing, retail, locker and event areas.

Without a floor plan, the quotient is not the physical footprint of each playing court. This revision removes the comparison to a commercial storefront and reports the building and court counts separately.

The operator’s descriptions of programming and amenities are first-party marketing claims. They show what the business intends to offer, not utilization, membership demand or an effect on surrounding property values.

What will confirm an opening

A live reservation calendar, posted hours or a dated opening notice from the Hilliard operator would establish that the club is serving customers. Local occupancy records could provide an additional public checkpoint.

Until one of those appears, the defensible status is that the 15-court facility is preparing to open and the late-August timetable remains unconfirmed.
