Advertising Terms

Draft terms for advertiser inquiries, sponsor packages, insertion orders, claims, labels, cancellations, refunds, and reporting.

Effective date: 2026-08-29

Review status: Owner execution version. Contact CREN for notices; not attorney approval.

Orders and deliverables

  • Each paid campaign should identify advertiser, package, price, term, flight dates, placements, asset specs, due dates, reporting, cancellation rules, and make-good terms.
  • CREN may require manual approval before any ad, sponsor slot, native placement, sponsored article, directory upgrade, event package, or market-report sponsorship goes live.
  • Inventory is not exclusive unless the order expressly grants exclusivity and defines category, geography, dates, and conflict rules.

Advertiser responsibilities

  • Advertisers must have rights to all copy, images, video, logos, trademarks, landing pages, claims, offers, and data they submit.
  • Advertisers must comply with fair housing, lending, insurance, consumer protection, privacy, intellectual property, email, telemarketing, and truth-in-advertising laws.
  • Advertisers must provide substantiation for objective claims, prices, availability, discounts, guarantees, superlatives, credentials, licenses, comparisons, and performance claims.

Prohibited advertising

  • No unlabeled native ads, fake editorial headlines, hidden sponsorship, misleading door openers, fake scarcity, false credentials, false availability, illegal targeting, discriminatory housing copy, or unsupported guarantees.
  • No ad may imply CREN endorsement, top ranking, approval, best-in-market status, or editorial recommendation unless a separate published methodology and approval process supports that claim.
  • CREN may reject or pause ads that create editorial, legal, reader-safety, brand-safety, data-rights, or fair-housing risk.

Reporting and refunds

Reporting should identify available metrics and limitations. Unless expressly stated in an order, CREN does not guarantee impressions, clicks, leads, leases, closings, conversions, attendance, rankings, editorial coverage, or investment outcomes.

Refunds or make-goods should be limited to missed placements, material CREN-caused labeling errors, or delivery failures defined in the order. Low performance, late advertiser assets, rejected unsupported claims, and policy violations should not automatically trigger refunds.
