Pickleball Kingdom plans to open its first Columbus-area location in Hilliard in late August, more than a year after the franchise first announced the site in July 2025. The 36,000-square-foot building at 4500 Britton Parkway will have 15 indoor courts, making it the chain's third Ohio club.

A Longer Wait Than First Announced

When Pickleball Kingdom first announced the Hilliard club on July 16, 2025, it targeted an early 2026 opening [prn1]. As of July 18, 2026, the franchise said the building's outdoor sign was up and the opening was pushed to late August [614now1]. That puts the actual opening about 13 months after the site was first announced [calc].

What's Inside the 36,000-Square-Foot Club

The club will offer 15 professional-grade indoor courts along with a mezzanine viewing area, a pro shop and locker rooms [614now1]. Spread across 15 courts, the 36,000-square-foot building works out to about 2,400 square feet per court, roughly the footprint of a small commercial storefront [calc2]. Pickleball Kingdom also plans coaching for all skill levels, leagues, youth programs, tournaments and corporate event hosting [prn1].

Ohio's Third Pickleball Kingdom Club

The Hilliard location will be Pickleball Kingdom's third in Ohio, following existing clubs in Cincinnati and Centerville [prn1]. Founder and CEO Ace Rodrigues said, "With successful clubs already operating in Cincinnati and Centerville, it's exciting to see the momentum growing" [prn1].

It's also opening the same week Hilliard hosts its Columbus Food Truck Festival, which CREN covered earlier this week. Together, the two events add to a busy August for Hilliard's retail and recreation scene.

CREN's free weekly brief covers new Franklin County openings and closings as they are confirmed.
